Characters in Game (previously too): The GHB, Kurloz Makara
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Søren Andersen [Denmark]
Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia
Gender: Male
Age: Hellafuckin' old. [3900 BC] But he looks like he's in his mid-20s.
Suitability: N/A
Species: Nation
Genitalia: Typical human dudejunk, nothing especially special or strange.
Canon Point: Modern-Day history
World/Setting: N/A
History: HERE y'go. In-canon, he's served as a shady figure in viking times and has shown up in some modern-day strips to crack jokes about the Nordic 5, so there isn't much history there.
Personality: Denmark is the big brother that everyone wants. He's kind, enthusiastic about everything, and supportive to a fault, especially if you're in the group of people he would consider family. He's bright and cheerful and warm, always ready with a smile and a laugh and a strong hand to clap on someone's unwitting shoulder.
That said, he is far from perfect. He has lived for a very long time, and was not always on the "right" side of history. He lived through the viking era and thoroughly embraced it. He's been a conqueror, and has kept other nations in alliances and unions against the overarching will of their people (and, in Sweden's case, punished them for leaving when they eventually came crawling back). He's been on the "right" side of history just as often - if not more so, though that does not excuse any actions done in darker times.
A long life and immortality in general has made something go a little bit off in his head, where his humor isn't quite always appropriate (and yes, he is pretty casually racist without meaning to), and he'll be just as ready to react with violence to a perceived slight to himself or his own as he is to laugh it off or deliver a stern look. On a whole, though, it takes quite a lot of digging (or a Swedish accent) to reach his darker inclinations, so the surface-level of big, happy, (often) drunk Dane that one sees is quite likely to be what one gets.
On that front, he isn't nearly as stupid as he would have one believe. It's easier, sometimes, if people think he's a little bit dim, and he isn't likely to correct when the accusation is made - ignoring it, or acting like he didn't hear it is far more likely - but just the same he won't hold back any quips or actions that just might let his intelligence show through.
Abilities/Weaknesses: Unlike some other Nations, he doesn't have any outstanding powers. He may have once had super strength, but he's kind of not on top of the world anymore, so if he did, it has left him long ago. Other than that, he is the one to go to if you want to sit down and hear a fantastic tale, or if you want a fine weapon or piece of armor smithed or wrought for you.
That, and he's unmatched with a battle axe in hand, and is highly skilled with a great number of other weapons to boot.
He does still have the accelerated healing of a Nation, and the inability to stay dead. Not that the latter matters here, considering the creepy nurses.
As for weaknesses, he's not on top of the world anymore. His economy is extremely good, so he isn't prone to illness or anything like that, but he also doesn't have a lot of influence anymore and does often pine after the good old days of viking lore. His accelerated healing from being a nation has also slowed down quite a lot, as well, to the point where it barely matters unless he's been killed. Also, he drinks quite a lot, and is more prone to violence than one might expect.

The first thing Søren noticed on waking up was that he was very much not at home. The second thing he noticed, between the rickety little bed and the stone walls and the dank smell was that he was in a castle. Now, he wasn't unfamiliar with sleeping in castles, of course not, but the real question was how he got there.
But since he was up now, there was no time like the present to find out! He hopped up out of bed and looked around the room, first, before he found the contract sitting on the table. Now, where his first impulse had been to fling open the door and go adventuring for answers, that would have been a very silly thing to do if the answers were sitting under his nose all along, so he took a seat at the simple little desk and read over the contract.
Oh.
Oh, well then.
That did explain quite... nicely what was going on.
Unfortunately for the Mistress, magic had never really been his thing. That was more up Norway or Iceland's alleys, so with that matter neatly decided for him, he set the contract aside and struck out into the castle to find the way out. Best to go now and try and make his way in this odd new (exciting, old-fashioned) world before he got comfortable in the castle, right?
